Experienced Legal Counsel

Ms. Hamberger decided to pursue a career in law to make a difference and to help people.

In 1994, she chose to attend CUNY law school because of the school's dedication to “Law in the Service of Human Needs' ' and simultaneously pursued a master's degree in Forensic Psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She was admitted to practice to the New York Bar in 1999 and hired as an Associate a Levitan and Pardes, PC. working under retired Nassau Supreme Court Justice Sondra Pardes.

She served as pro bono counsel to the Nassau Suffolk Law Services Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP). Wendy zealously dedicated herself to representing many clients in matrimonial and guardianship matters.

She helped establish the VLP’s Uncontested Matrimonial Law Initiative to assist clients who for years have been seeking a divorce but cannot afford to hire an attorney.

Her hard work and determination helping low-income Long Island residents has earned her the honor of being named “Pro Bono Attorney of the Month” for January of 2015 by Nassau Suffolk Law Services and Nassau County Bar Association Pro Bono Attorney of the Year for 2019.

In 2016 Wendy established a low- bono law firm to bridge the gap in legal services for people of modest means.  Her firm primarily serve clients who earn too much to qualify for pro-bono assistance, but don’t earn enough to hire a traditional law firm.
